Weekend Roundup
Congratulations to everyone graduating from Brigham Young University this weekend. There will be nearly 6,000 students walking this weekend from 49 states, six territories and 62 foreign countries. So now you are done with school you have time to have a little fun. Start off by checking out Forever Plaid at the Covey Center for the Arts in Downtown Provo. It's the story of "The Plaids" a 1950's quartet of high school chums returning from the afterlife for one final chance at musical glory. You can also check out Peter Pan at the Hale Center Theater in Orem. Come fly away with Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook as this musical fairy tale comes to life.
Then it's time to get outside and try your hand, or foot, at a 5k or half marathon. The Thanksgiving Point Half Marathon is April 26, 2014. The run benefits the Museum of Natural Curiosity and youth educational programs. The half marathon begins at 7 am at electric park and leads runners through Thanksgiving Point's Gardens, The Children's Discovery Garden's at the height of the annual Tulip Festival and the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course. The Grovecrest Grizzly 5k Run/Walk and Fun Run is also this Saturday at Pleasant Grove Junior High School and starts at 8:00 am. No one goes home empty handed from this event, lots of free swag and t-shirts.
