Is there a better
way to celebrate the start of summer then enjoying an old fashioned Rodeo? I
would say no. Here is a guide on how to best enjoy the Strawberry day
festivities.
1. Eat
Strawberries and Cream
Your diet will
forgive you just this once. I would suggest waiting for a few minutes before
you eat your little piece of heaven to let the strawberries mix with the cream.
Then eat up.
2. Bring
Cash
You will need cash
to pay for the Rodeo and food in the area. There is an ATM outside, but it’s so
much faster to just have some cash on hand.
3. Get Your Ticket
Early
Mutton Busting
maybe my favorite part of any rodeo, it starts at 7:30 and you don't want to
miss it standing in line for a ticket. This Rodeo sells out, so don't wait to
get your ticket until it’s too late.
4. Go to Mutton
Busting
Little kids
holding on to sheep for dear life. Enough said.
5. Bring a
blanket
It may be the
longest day of the year, but you will be sitting for a long time after dark. So
bring a blanket to cuddle up in, especially if you stay for the firework show
on Saturday night.
6. What to Wear
Not a
cowboy/cowgirl in real life? No one knows that, so get a sparkly belt buckle
and some pearl snaps to look the part. If you are really into it grab a pair of
cowboy boots and a Stetson.
7. Enjoy
everything that Strawberry Days has to offer.
Come out early for
the carnival and craft fair. Don't worry if you stay out late Friday night
because the parade doesn't start until 10:00 AM Saturday (June 22nd).
